MUnique Technology

The DORT system (Dynamic Optical Ranging & Timing) from MUnique Technology is a pulsed optical device that enables a new high-precision distance measurement. Its performance is several orders of magnitude better than other modern technologies such as LIDAR. Space-relevant distances can be measured in absolute terms with a resolution in the micrometer range. The device is also capable of providing the next generation of time synchronization for space. The optical all-in-fiber setup in combination with a special mathematical algorithm creates a suitable tool for satellite constellation flights. Due to its compactness and cost efficiency, the DORT system can be implemented in very small satellites. This enables fast and cost-effective scientific applications.
